Ana, she who perseveres achieves.

Studying and graduating as a Social Worker has helped me support my 3 children and be a driving force in the community for the lives of many.

A warrior who has been involved in the Acesco Foundation processes for almost 19 years.

Ana Valencia is a natural community leader who came to the Acesco Foundation more than 20 years ago in search of being able to articulate and strengthen her community initiative of occupying free time through reading to 40 boys and girls in her neighborhood, in order to keep them away from the psychosocial risks inherent in the environment.

To achieve this, Ana decided to work as a community mother, in order to provide for her family and pay for her studies. Undoubtedly, a combination of sacrifices, effort, and struggle resulted in a well-rounded professional; she has become a role model not only for her children but for her entire family, a pure example of how perseverance pays off.

Today, Ana is part of the Colchas de Amor program and belongs to ASOCONAMOR, an association made up of 5 women who make handmade fabric products demonstrating personal growth and contribution to their community and environment.
