Where do we come from?
The Acesco Foundation is the result of two important efforts: the Darío Maya Botero Foundation, in Eastern Caldas and the Huellas Foundation, in Malambo, Atlántico.
Indeed, in 1988 a group of businessmen from the Escobar family, originally from Pensilvania (Caldas), decided to create the Darío Maya Botero Foundation, named in gratitude to a renowned popular leader of the region.
Later in 1998, the Huellas Foundation was created in the municipality of Malambo (Atlantic), as a way to support the socio-economic development of the community of influence, where the company Acesco has its main center of operations.
