A dream turned into a life project
My social commitment is to highlight the sense of belonging to Malambo, which has been key to encouraging citizen participation.
Andrés Rodriguez Barros He became involved with the Acesco Foundation through the technical work program in Radio and Television Announcing at the Academy of Art and Culture of the Caribbean.
Andrés Rodríguez joined the Acesco Foundation as an intern in the technical vocational program for radio and television broadcasting. During this time, he fell in love with the Onda Juvenil Communications Collective project and became its director two years later.
Restless, critical, and with bold questions, these are characteristics that define Andres, who, from his time as an intern, expressed his desire to pursue university studies in Social Communication and Journalism as a professional career, thus defining his life project. Upon learning of his aspirations and abilities, the Acesco Foundation decided to request a higher education scholarship from the Acesco company to make his dream a reality.
His social commitment to young people and the community in general, combined with his work to highlight the sense of belonging to Malambo, has been key to encouraging citizen participation throughout the municipality.
Thanks to Andrés's efforts, this Chair currently includes volunteer professors who are experts in Social Communication from the most recognized universities in Barranquilla, with the purpose of establishing their own methodologies that aim at the entrepreneurship of young people from Malambo.
